Why did you join the Horizon Strategies team?

To leverage my skills, experience and expertise from over three decades of government service, both as an Active Duty Army Officer and as a Department of the Navy Civilian, to continue to support the national security apparatus.  Perhaps more importantly, I joined Horizon Strategies because I enjoy working with the high caliber team of professionals that comprise this company.

What current projects are you managing for Horizon Strategies?

I serve as the Vice President for Government Services, with recent work to include coordinating and supporting the U.S. Air Force Blue Flag Exercise Program; overseeing, developing and writing orders and plans as part of the Consolidated Army Reserve Training Support (CARTS) program; and business development, operational oversight of and recruiting for a multitude of endeavors in support of government agencies and organizations.

What did you do before Horizon Strategies?

I was a career Army Officer, retiring as a Colonel after nearly three decades, commanding or serving as a staff officer at various levels. I served in the United States, Germany, Korea, and commanded a field artillery battalion during combat operations in Iraq. In addition to serving in traditional combat arms units, I also had multiple assignments working with and training Reserve Component units (U.S. Army Reserve and Army National Guard).  I trained and prepared members of the Joint Force for duty in Joint Air Operations Centers, and served as Course Coordinator for the Joint Force Land Component Commander (JFLCC) Course at the U.S. Army War College.  I have extensive background in Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA), to include service as a Defense Coordinating Officer, working closely with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and a multitude of interagency and intergovernmental agencies responding to numerous disasters and emergencies, as well as planning for and conducting National Special Security Events. Additionally, I served as a Department of the Navy Civilian with the Naval Aviation Schools Command as the Training Support Division Department Head before joining Horizon Strategies.
